Have you been classically trained in music? Aretha Franklin wants to hear from you.
The Queen of Soul put out the call today for “new, unsigned classically trained talent,” whom she hopes to personally mentor and sign to
her Aretha’s Records label.
Franklin is seeking artists between the ages of 17 and 35,

Prospective artists can send a CD, DVD or cassette of a cover song performance (“original material will not be reviewed,” Franklin advises), with full name and contact details on the disc or tape, and a labeled spine. She also wants a recent 8-by-10 photo and a short bio that includes musical background.
Submissions must be in a “regular sized case” and can be mailed to:

Tyler Perry's "Madea's Witness Protection" seeks kid extras, male and female, ages 5-12 only. At this time, we are only looking for kid extras that have on camera, theatre experience, or professional training. About Henson:
Raised in the "backyard" of Broadway, Toni Simmons Henson founded Micah 68 Media in 2007. She is formerly the Exec. Director of the Princeton, NJ branch of one of the world's largest acting schools, the Helen O'Grady Acting Academy. Over 750 students developed their public speaking & acting skills under her tenure. She has produced & directed over 80 stage plays & presentations. A graduate of Howard & NYU, she has furthered her performing arts studies under Nick Anselmo of Mercer College in NJ and the renowned John Basil of the American Globe Theatre in New York City.

INDUSTRY EVENT
The Georgia Museum of Art announces the Kress Project, a two-year initiative celebrating the 50th anniversary of the museum’s Samuel H. Kress Study Collection. Submissions may include a wide variety of forms, such as academic essays, visual art, choreography, fashion design or even a recipe inspired by a work in the collection. All ages and education levels are encouraged to participate. Each winner will receive a $500 prize and have his or her work published in a multimedia book. Submission Deadline: February 1, 2012
